Dan Meyer is asking us to reflect upon the year 2007 by designing our own four slide annual report. I plan to participate since this will give me an opportunity to look back on 2007 through a medium I find very interesting and fun to work with. Everyone should take this opportunity to reflect upon the year—and realize just how much information about our lives we now have at our fingertips. I am also glad to see that he chose to keep creative constraints again. If you are looking for possible sources of data, these should help:
- Feedburner and Google Analytics stats
- Your last.fm profile
- Twitter Stats
- Google Reader trends
- Google Web History
- del.icio.us bookmarks
- Technorati rank
- Your task list
- The time you spent
Hint: Good design is about what’s in the garbage. (What you think about, then toss out)
- Example chart by Nicholas Feltron
- Thanks to Dan for putting this on.
- Hat tip to Ethan Bodnar for reminding me about this.

Arthus, dude… I’m looking at your blog/commenting in school and it is messed up on internet explorer 6, just to let you know (would send a screenshot but can’t).
Yup, Sean. I know.
Until my next design, I have basically decided to screw IE6. I might just have it send my print style sheet for IE6.
