Junk Science is one of MANY sources/white papers/scientific manuscripts and research papers that question that global warming is even a problem, much less caused by humans, yet very rarely do I see such research in the main stream media. So what am I supposed to believe? I do apologize if I upset you with my post; and, yes I do agree that not only liberals are uninformed. My blog/views/political perspective is based on MY OWN personal experience; and the examples I gave are truly my real-life experiences. You make an excellent point about Bush; I have met many conservatives that not only believe everything that comes out of his mouth but also agree with all of his policies just because he is a republican. I don’t and that’s why I left the Republican Party several years ago. I am not sure where you reside, but I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where liberal policies dominate the forefront and I can honestly say to you that uninformed liberals in this area easily outnumber the republican groupies. For instance, many scientists are not sure about how cancer begins in a cell - yet no one doubts that people suffer and die from it. Personally, a link to Junk Science doesn't seem like the best way to support your argument. Regardless of whether global warming is the issue or not, what particularly upset me was how you seem to assume that the only people who are uninformed are liberals.
Very rarely, do I meet a liberal that can hold an intelligent conversation and argue their point logically using inductive/deductive reasoning.
From my experience, this is a problem which stretches across the entire political spectrum. In fact, I could find you far more conservatives who take the word of Bush as gospel than liberals who take Gore's view automatically. Basically, we should realize that many people are uninformed - regardless of political views. Many scientific facts, do have debate surrounding them. If global warming was indeed a SCIENTIFIC FACT, then why don't all scientists agree with it? http://www.michaelbrito.com/2007/02/05/global-warming-or-not/ Look, whether or not global warming is a serious problem was not the issue for me; the main point of my post was that there are uninformed people who make judgments without doing any research for themselves, and then pass it on as gospel. Oh, and thanks for the link…I appreciate it. The Blind and Deaf Conservative, Michael Brito So here is the question we must ask ourselves. Actually, I think far too many people substitute ideology for honest investigation of many questions. Global warming seems to be a particularly ripe expression of the tendency. I don't care what Al Gore says, but I find it hard to believe that global warming is the liberal equivalent of so-called creation science which is not science at all. The fact that many liberals accept global warming for ideological reasons and because of political affilliation does not mean that global warming isn't occuring. Good point.
