I have moved to newlyancient.com and will be writing regularly there! Content on this domain is no longer updated, but will be maintained as an archive in its original form.

Rules and Names and Bookmarks, oh my!

I have decided it is time for me to take the great plunge. Fate (or maybe Tyme White) will decide whether I deserve to enter that great club of champions. This will be the moment of truth. No, I am not going to ask the one I love to marry me. I am going to submit to 9rules. Despite the small chance of success, there is no harm in my attempt. (That is besides making Tyme take a quick look at my site) While judgment may be harsh and indifferent, I can at least prepare myself and my blog for it. So, over the next few weeks I will be attempting to improve content and design quality. To start with, it is time that I got a decent blog title. How uncouth and simplistic is it to simply use my name? In my opinion, extremely. Without further ado, I hereby christen thy, my faithful blog, “Newly Ancient. If you can’t figure it out, this refers the rapidly updating blogosphere and the speed of the web in general. I know this is a little abstract and isn’t the greatest name ever. I’m sure you brilliant people can think of something far better; but until someone comments (for once) this name stands. Even if I don’t get into 9rules, I still want to increase my readers (that’s right you). Basically, my problem is that I really am a horrible marketer. Almost every project I have started has fizzled out and died thanks to my lack of marketing abilities. I can’t do SEO for squat, don’t like affiliating, and have almost no ‘good buds’ to spread the word. Perhaps Newly Ancient (this blog, remember) won’t fail thanks to the help of social bookmarking and the sociable WordPress plugin. This adds some really nice little links to the bottom of each post so you, my piteous readers, can easily market for me. So, please use them and keep Newly Ancient from losing all momentum. Get ready for a rush of creativity, updates, and posts as I prepare to enter the network of all networks, 9rules.
